Description
The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for the U.S.-Korea Institute (USKI) and Korea Studies Program. The administrative coordinator will report to the USKI Director and Research Associate and will provide administrative support to the U.S.-Korea Institute. S/he facilitates the logistical aspects of events; manages program budgets and grants; processes expenditures; provides assistance and support to staff and visiting scholars; and assures the smooth functioning of Institute activities. The administrative coordinator will also report to the Korea Studies Director and provide administrative support to the Korea Studies Program, tenured, adjunct faculty and students of the Program. S/he is the primary point of contact for the program with other SAIS academic and administrative programs/offices in coordinating teaching schedules and course requirements. S/he facilitates planning, organizing and implementing Korea Studies events; manages program budgets and grants; authorizes and processes expenditures; and provides assistance and support to faculty and students; and serves as the liaison between faculty and students, administrative personnel and outside resources. Will perform other duties as assigned. Position requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment. Requirements
A Bachelors degree is required. 1-3 years of previous administrative experience is required (additional education can be substituted for some experience). Candidate must possess excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with budget and grant management as well as event planning and organizing is highly desired. Experience with web content editing, as well as MS Publisher a plus. Previous travel or living experience in Korea, as well as Korean language skills (speaking, reading and writing) are also a plus.
